Using CBD Oil for Smoothie Recipes

The health benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) and the various conditions it can help treat are becoming more widely known and accepted by the general public. CBD is an incredibly versatile compound, capable of alleviating many ailments, and in oil form it is also very adaptable in terms of ingestion. Using CBD oil for smoothies is a great way to incorporate CBD into your diet, and since they fit nicely into many people’s existing wellness routines, this is an easy and tasty approach to ingesting CBD oil.

What is CBD?

Before we start looking at these fabulous CBD Oil Smoothie recipes, here’s a quick primer on “What exactly is CBD?” If you are familiar however, feel free to skip to the next section.

Cannabidiol is a chemical compound (cannabinoid) found in cannabis and is used extensively for its healing properties and health benefits. It is generally obtained from the hemp plant, however it is also found in certain species of marijuana. While both plants are cannabis and technically the same species, hemp naturally contains very high amounts of CBD with little THC (>0.3% by dry weight). 

Similar to other cannabinoids, CBD works alongside the endocannabinoid system (ECS), boosting its efficacy and assisting with natural processes such as appetite regulation, swelling or inflammation, memory, immune function, sleep, and mood.

CBD can also help those who suffer from chronic pain, arthritis, epilepsy, and nausea. It is also excellent at reducing swelling in the body, making it ideal for individuals who want something other than conventional treatment to ease their pain. Due to its ability to relax the body and reduce anxiety, CBD can help patients with insomnia, allowing them to fall asleep easier and for longer periods.

How much CBD oil should I put in my smoothie?

Dosage varies from person to person; what might work for a spouse or friends might not work for you (depending on factors such as weight, metabolism, and severity of the condition being treated). What is the easiest and best way to add CBD to your smoothie? The easiest way to integrate CBD into your smoothies is through a CBD tincture; we have different tincture strengths and flavours that can help you out. You’ll want to start with a small dose of CBD, or the recommended dose from our quiz, and measure your reaction.  Over time, you can gradually increase the dose until you achieve your desired result; we recommend increasing your dosage by 5mg after at least one week of use from the initial dose amount. By adding a full-spectrum CBD tincture to your smoothie, the vitamins and minerals of the CBD are easily absorbed into the body.  The oil should blend easily with the rest of your smoothie if you’re using a blender or even just by shaking vigorously – depending on your taste preference, we have unflavoured and peppermint varieties.

Recipe 1: Refreshing CBD Infused Kombucha Fresca

Ingredients:
2 doses of resolveCBD oil
3 cups grapefruit juice
2 cups kombucha
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 cup ice

Instructions:
Optional: Sugar rim your glasses (Dip the glass in lemon juice and then in sugar)
Add all the ingredients except the CBD into a pitcher and stir
Fill two glasses halfway with ice and pour in the fresca mixture
Add 1 dose of resolveCBD oil to each glass
Optional: Garnish with mint and raspberries

Recipe 2: Tropical CBD Infused Smoothie

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of frozen mango
1/2 cup of pineapple
1 carrot
1/2 cup of strawberries
1/2 cup of orange juice
A scoop of Greek yogurt
1 dose of resolveCBD oil
Handful of ice

Instructions:
Blend ingredients.
Enjoy!

Recipe 3: Easy Iced Matcha Latte

1/3 cup of water
2 tsp honey
1 tsp matcha
1 dose of resolveCBD oil
Add lots of ice!!
